On August 1, 1966, sniper Charles Whitman rode the elevator to the top of the University of Texas Tower and opened fire on the campus below, holding it hostage for 96 minutes in what became a previously unimaginable tragedy. Tower combines archival footage with rotoscopic animation to create a seamless and suspenseful retelling of the unfolding event, based entirely on first-person testimonies from witnesses, heroes, and survivors.
