The Moth StorySLAM is a community-focused, open-mic storytelling competition in which anyone can share a five-minute story on the night's theme. For this event themed "SCHOOLED," participants prepare stories about the lessons that shaped them—wisdom passed down by elders, gurus, and sages, as well as lessons learned from textbooks, hard knocks, lucky breaks, triumphs and mistakes. Stories can draw from fortune cookies to astrology, from Confucius to Brené Brown, and include the realest reality checks from teachers, siblings, bosses and bullies.
